What is the Legarza Basketball League?

-Fun, co-ed, professional instructional league for children in 3rd & 4th grade.
- Program that inspires self-confidence & self-esteem.
- Encourages and enhances motor skills, concentration, problem solving, cooperation & independence.
- Creates an enthusiasm for exercise, activity. & sport.
- Instills habits for a healthy lifestyle.
Legarza Basketball League Structure:
- Age appropriate equipment & instruction.
- Size 28.5 balls.
- 9 ft basket height

-Building Block Curriculum: takes into account the social, emotional, athletic, and instructional stage
of children.
- Each session will feature a 20-minute skill building practice session.
- Parents are encouraged to come on the floor with us: have fun & learn along with your child.
- Each session will end with a 40-minute instructional game.
- Developmental rules & game play enforced to enhance learning.
Legarza Basketball League Schedule:

-Begins March 18 and runs on Sundays for 6 weeks ending April 29th
(No league November 27th).
- Starts each Sunday at 3 pm and ends at 4 pm.
Legarza Basketball League Coaches:
- Each location will feature (2-4) Legarza Basketball trained and certified directors.
- Directors will lead and teach skill sessions each week.
- Directors will facilitate/referee each game, enforcing developmental game rules & regulations.

-Parent Volunteers will coach a team during the instructional games, responsible
for substitutions and organization of team.
- Your kids will love having you as a coach, playing and having fun with them.
- Learn the foundations for youth sports coaching.

socially, while developing exercise habits for a healthy lifestyle.

-We will stress the importance of respect and sportsmanship with all participants.

-We will teach individual basketball skills as well as stress the importance of teamwork through
team building exercises & activities.

- San Francisco: San Francisco City College, 50 Phelan Ave, San Francisco, CA (Fall, Winter, Spring)

-Peninsula: College of San Mateo, 1700 W. Hillsdale Blvd, San Mateo, CA (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer)
